Crossiply Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026 · Developer contact: slopnboppin@gmail.com
Crossiply is a single-player word game for iPhone, iPad and Android, also playable in a web browser. This policy explains what information the game and the advertising service inside it handle, and the choices you have.
Your progress stays on your device
Your runs, unlocked tile sets, achievements and settings are stored only on your device, in the app's own storage (or, in a browser, in that browser's storage for the game's page). We do not run a game server, there are no accounts or sign-in, and we never receive or upload your progress. Deleting the app or clearing its data deletes your progress permanently.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Crossiply is free and shows only optional rewarded video ads. You choose whether to watch one, for example for two more plays when a round runs out, a free shop restock, a doubled round payout, a free hint or one more card in a pack. There are no forced ads and no in-app purchases.
In the iPhone, iPad and Android apps, ads are provided by Google AdMob. The AdMob software in the game collects the following and shares it with Google when ads are requested or shown:
- Device identifiers: your device's advertising identifier (on iPhone and iPad, only where you allow it) and, on Android, the app set ID,
- Approximate location: estimated from your IP address,
- App interactions: for example app launches, taps and ad views,
- Diagnostics: app and ad performance information such as crash logs and launch time.
Google uses this to show ads, measure them, prevent fraud and, where you have allowed it, personalise ads. This data is encrypted in transit. Google's handling of it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
When you play in a browser on PlayDrop, ads there are provided by PlayDrop, and PlayDrop's own privacy policy applies to them.
Your choices
- Consent: where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and some US states), the game asks for your consent before ads are personalised. You can then change your choice at any time in the game under Settings → Privacy choices.
- iPhone and iPad: the game asks for permission before it can use your device's advertising identifier for tracking. You can change this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- You never have to watch an ad to play the game.
Sharing your daily result
When you share a daily run's result, the text goes through your device's share sheet to the app you choose. We never see it.
Children
Crossiply is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't collect your name, email address, contacts, photos or precise location.
- We don't add analytics or crash-reporting services of our own (only the AdMob diagnostics described above).
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and publish the new version at this address.
